STD Transformer

Production and Design

Production Process

STD Transformers are manufactured to provide end users with high-quality and reliable transformers. We utilize a Quality-Focused Production platform that defines the design standards, equipment, and processes used in our facilities. This Shared Technology enables us to deliver high-quality and durable products to our customers.

A transformer is a static inductive device capable of stepping up or stepping down voltage to efficiently transfer electrical energy. The selection of winding types and loss-minimizing methods is carried out using magnetic field analysis, ensuring high efficiency in STD Transformers.

Additionally, the electrical stability of the transformer is ensured by selecting the optimal insulation structure for turns, sections, windings, and phases through electric field analysis. STD’s advanced fluid analysis technology enables the implementation of an optimal cooling system, while our three-structure force analysis ensures a structural design capable of withstanding internal mechanical short-circuit forces caused by system failures, external seismic conditions, and transportation impacts.

Our factory is equipped with high-tech winding machines, high-capacity vacuum heat drying equipment, advanced product maintenance facilities, and an accredited test laboratory.

Magnetic Core

The magnetic circuit is of the column type with mitered joints. It is manufactured using first-class, grain-oriented, cold-rolled silicon steel laminations or amorphous steel. The assembled core is compressed to reduce vibrations and minimize noise. Additionally, the step-lap construction further decreases noise levels and no-load losses.

Mineral oil, available in both inhibited and uninhibited types, meets IEC standards and is free from PCB and PCT, ensuring excellent electrical and chemical properties. Upon special request, we can also manufacture transformers using insulation fluids such as silicone, synthetic ester, or natural ester.

As STD Transformer, we manufacture both off-load tap changers and on-load tap changers according to customer project requirements.

As STD Transformer, we carry out our production using state-of-the-art low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) winding machines.

As STD Transformer, we manufacture transformer tanks and tank covers in-house. All welds are tested to ensure oil tightness.

All transformer tanks produced in our facility first undergo meticulous sandblasting, followed by a state-of-the-art electrostatic powder coating process. Upon customer request, additional coating layers can be applied to enhance corrosion resistance.

We also offer production with galvanized coatings or paint over galvanized surfaces according to customer specifications. As an alternative, hot-dip galvanized transformers can be supplied for use in highly corrosive environments. Detailed painting processes are available for different environmental conditions.
